About

Serena Lewis

Programs, training and workshop facilitator for improved communication for end-of-life care and grief.

Through my experiences as a social worker, an executive director of not-for-profit organizations, and as a counselor, I learned a tremendous amount about creating opportunity amid challenging circumstances. Today, as someone who works to improve end-of-life-care and to make difficult conversations easier, my past experiences influence my approach.

I am committed to living the following values in all services I deliver:

  • 1. Social Justice: Compassion and kindness arise from the belief that there is humanity in all. Whether leading a workshop or developing program curriculum, I strive to incorporate this belief in everything I do.
  •

  • 2. Honest dialogue: Difficult conversations are never easy. However, honest dialogue spoken in a judgment-free environment makes challenging topics easier to tackle and easier to manage.
  •

  • 3. Creativity: At the heart of a creative solution is the commitment to understanding the desired outcome. I support clients by understanding their needs and addressing those needs with creative solutions.
  •

  • 4. Critical thinking: Just because something continues to happen in a certain way does not mean it continues to work. I am committed to thinking critically about processes, programs, and systems used to educate, inform, and support.
  •

  • 5. Balance: Perspective impacts decisions. I strive to provide balance through critical thought, creativity, honest dialogue, and a commitment to social justice.
